Quickstart

Send a message from your terminal and see it arrive in Ripple. It takes one key and one command.

Copy a send key

A send key lets a script post messages to one source, and nothing else. A source is where messages show up. Every account starts with one, Inbox, so that's where this message goes.

In Ripple's sidebar, open Inbox's menu and choose Copy send key. Then set it in your terminal:

Terminal
export RIPPLE_KEY=paste-your-key-here
Tip

In a real script, keep the key with your other secrets, such as your CI's secret settings or a .env file you don't commit.

Send a message

curl https://api.ripplepush.com/v1/send \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $RIPPLE_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "title": "Hello from Ripple",
    "body": "The first of many."
  }'

Result

“Hello from Ripple” is at the top of Inbox, unread.

Accepted means Ripple saved the message. Whether your phone or computer alerts depends on your notification settings, so a message can also arrive quietly.
